Taking place on the first Friday of every month, Tulsa's First Friday Art Crawl falls on August 2 this month. A tradition since 2007, this year-round series highlights the galleries, studios, and museums throughout the city's historic Arts District. The Art Crawl runs from 6 pm to 9 pm. In addition to seeing some amazing local and regional art, it's also a perfect opportunity to check out some of the restaurants and cafes in the district.

Hosted by Ease Meditation at Tulsa's Philbrook Museum of Art, Meditation at the Museum is slated for August 3 at 10 am. Whether you're passionate about meditation or are a relative newcomer wanting to learn more, this is a great opportunity. The guided session will focus on sonic meditation, including crystal singing bowls and Koshi chimes. It's a weekly event, so you'll have additional chances to check it out on August 10, 17, 24 and 31.
- Jazz Depot & Eicher Wednesdays - 717 S Houston Ave #100, Tulsa, OK 74127
Live music is a staple at Baxter's Interurban Grill, an eclectic eatery that hosts jazz artists in its dining room weekly. Stop in on any Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm for the Jazz Jam or on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm for Eicher Wednesdays, featuring the talents of Shelby and Nathan Eicher with various guest artists. Hosted by Jazz Depot, both events take place every week through August and are free to the public.
- 2024 Folk Arts & Woodcarving Festival - 1500 S Main St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012
Mark your calendar for August 9 and 10, when the Central Park Community Center in Broken Arrow hosts the 2024 Folk Arts & Woodcarving Festival. Presented by the Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarvers Association, this unique event has been a recurring tradition for over 30 years. Attendees will have an opportunity to watch some of the most talented craftspeople in the country create works of art from wood, ceramic, glass and other materials.
- Summer's Fifth Night - 1709 Utica Square, Tulsa, OK 74114
Arguably the most celebrated live music concert series in Tulsa, the annual Summer's Fifth Night series is already going strong and will continue well into August. These free outdoor concerts take place in Utica Square, and include upcoming performances by R&B artist Tony Mason on August 1, jazz singer Grady Nichols on August 8, and country artists Mary Cogan and the Paul Roper Band on August 15.
