 Tulsa Zoo

Have the kids started their annual summer refrain of "There's nothing to do?" Never a dull moment with these entertaining, family-friendly activities around Tulsa homes for sale, as recommended by our real estate agents.

  1. Gathering Place - 2650 S. John Williams Way E., Tulsa, OK 74114
It's official: there's no place like Gathering Place. USA Today placed this unique attraction at #1 on their list of "10 Best City Parks" for 2024. With six million gallons of water and 30 species of trees on 100 waterfront acres, Gathering Place truly is an oasis of nature in an urban landscape. The seemingly endless list of activities includes Discovery Lab, kayak and pedal boat rides, G.R.O.W. Mobile Library, nature walks, and Exploration Station. Murals and other works of art can be found throughout the park. Dine at the grab-and-go cafe or The Patio, a sit-down quick-service eatery. Hours are 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily and admission is free. Leashed dogs are welcome on the riverfront trails as well as on Wednesdays and Fridays for Dog Play Days.

  2. Tulsa Zoo - 6421 E. 36th St. N., Tulsa, OK 74115
No childhood is complete without a trip to the delightful Tulsa Zoo. The 84-acre grounds are home to more than 2,000 animals from all regions of the world, including exotic species. A series of exhibits portrays animal life in the desert, water, and other environments. Take a thrilling animal "ride" on the Wildlife Carousel and get an up-close encounter will small mammals at the Children's Zoo. When you get hungry, there are several spots for snacks and meals. The Tulsa Zoo is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets range from $12.99-$15.99.

  3. FC Tulsa - ONEOK Field, 201 N. Elgin Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120
Soccer is one of the more popular sports for school-aged kids, so why not give them a chance to see how the pros do it? Purchased by the three Craft brothers in 2019, when the team was still known as the Roughnecks, FC Tulsa wears their hometown on their sleeve ... literally. The color scheme and typeface on the jerseys are a nod to Tulsa's art deco history, while the logo's scissor-tailed flycatcher is the state bird. The club offers several fun giveaways and promotions, such as Family Night (9/1) and Pups at the Pitch (9/11). Visit the website for schedule and ticket prices.

  4. Admiral Twin Drive-In - 7355 E. Easton St., Tulsa, OK 74115
So you want to catch the big summer movies but you don't want to be indoors. Problem solved at Admiral Twin Drive-In. The beloved theater has been a Tulsa institution since 1951 and even played a featured part in Francis Ford Coppola's classic film The Outsiders. Enjoy two top Hollywood films for the price of one on each screen. Tickets are $5-$9. Visit the website for the current schedule.

  5. Paradise Beach Water Park - 4707 E. 21st St., Tulsa, OK 74114
Make a big splash at Paradise Beach Water Park. Kids get the adrenaline pumping on the water slides and in the wave pool, while adults can relax floating on the appropriately named Lazy River. Hours are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. General admission tickets are $31, with season passes available for $79.99 and $99.99.
