Home Interior Tulsa

Is your home's interior starting to look a little dated to you? You don't have to renovate the whole house to change this. According to our real estate agents, there are many small things you can do to breathe new life into your home. Try some of the following tips to get your home looking its best again in no time.

  • Repaint
Repainting is easy, affordable, and extremely effective at making a home feel like new. Give the major rooms in your home a fresh coat of paint in a color that matches the furniture and fixtures you already have. Neutrals work well for almost all spaces, but don't be afraid to choose bolder colors and finishes.

Complete the project with some semi-gloss paint for the interior molding and baseboards. Our team has used this technique to freshen up many of our Tulsa homes for sale, giving each home a clean and well-kept appearance that buyers love to see.

  • Add Pops of Color
If most of your home features plain, neutral hues, try adding a few colorful elements to each room. Something as simple as a bright throw pillow or a beautiful china vase can introduce a vibrant new shade to the space and make the whole package much more interesting to look at.

  • Lay Down an Area Rug
Whether you go with one in a single bold color or one with an eye-catching pattern, a new area rug will draw the viewer's focus and establish segmented areas within the space. It's important to consider more than just looks, though - make sure the rug you choose is also comfortable and easy to clean to avoid headaches later on.

  • Organize Your Shelves
If your home has any visible shelves, they're probably more cluttered than you'd like them to be. Clean them up to instantly make your space feel more relaxing and harmonious. Add more shelves or cupboards if more storage space is needed to keep your belongings looking tidy.

  • Put Up Some Art
Putting up paintings, posters, prints, and other artwork is a great way to bring some excitement to plain walls. If you're an artist yourself, hang up some of your own works to make the space feel truly personal. Otherwise, you can find gorgeous pieces at craft shows, on artists' websites, or even at second-hand stores. Hang your new finds one by one or cluster a group of them together to create a stunning gallery wall.

  • Add New Drapes
Highlight your home's windows by framing them with some new drapes. Look for long, dramatic curtains that hang a few inches above the window and sweep several inches past the bottom of it. They'll make the windows look larger and help you better control how much sunlight makes it into the room.

  • Switch Up Your Lighting
Adding lamps and wall sconces to your rooms accents certain parts of a space and makes those areas more functional. Place light sources where you spend most of your time, such as at a desk near a favorite reading chair.

Choose soft lights that are bright enough to let you see what you're doing without straining your eyes. If you want to go the extra mile, you can also update your ceiling fixtures with new decorative models that match the rest of your decor.

These small changes may be impactful, but sometimes they're just not enough. If you think you've outgrown your home and are interested in moving on to greener pastures, contact us today. We'll help you leave the past behind and find a new home that perfectly matches your current taste, lifestyle, and goals.
