Guthrie Green is named for folk singer Woody Guthrie, and it's the home of Festival Americas and many other Tulsa events throughout the year. This festival is considered one of America's premier celebrations of Hispanic and Latino culture. It includes live music, dancing, food trucks, and much more to make it one of the year's most memorable get-togethers in Tulsa's most famous municipal green space. It happens on October 4.
Everybody loves a state fair, and the Tulsa State Fair is (of course) no exception. This classic state fair experience offers "11 days of awesome," running between October 1 and October 11. It's one of Oklahoma's oldest events, debuting in 1903. Last year, it attracted one million guests from all around the country, and 2026 is shaping up to be even bigger. Every day offers family-friendly entertainment and educational events.
Some highlights from this year's Tulsa State Fair will include:
Disney on Ice
Pepsi Fall Concert Series
The Golden Driller and other great rides
Awesome Eats Competition
Livestock and Horse Shows
52nd Annual Oklahoma State Fiddling Championships
Tulsa Oktoberfest is the area's biggest celebration of Bavarian culture. In honor of the German festival of the same name, it includes five days of fun beginning on Wednesday, October 22. This event has repeatedly been selected as the #1 Oktoberfest in America. Its mainstay event is the Biermeister's Ball, which features a truly authentic German dinner. On Friday, kids can join the celebration for free, and Sunday is the Dachshund Dash!
Join friends and family early in the morning this October 31 for Tulsa's most historic race. Tulsa Run started in 1978 with only 1,000 participants and has grown every year since. Over its history, more than 150,000 people have completed the 5K race. Experienced runners can go for the 15K (9.3 miles), and visitors of all skill levels are welcome to join the 2K (just slightly over a mile). It's not just a race; it's a fall tradition in Tulsa!
Fall is traditionally the best time of the year to explore Tulsa's 28-mile stretch of historic Route 66. In fact, Tulsa has been called the Capital of Route 66 for its fascinating attractions. With mild weather and lots of seasonal specials along the way, you can see iconic sights of Americana like Route 66 Neon Sign Park.
